Position Description: This
position is for a Senior System Administrator to support high availability
development and production ITSM incident, problem, configuration and asset
management tools with specific knowledge in the areas of Remedy (BMC
Technology) and the ServiceNow enterprise tool. This role is to support a
Federal services contract and requires candidate to be able to provide on call
support 24x7. The position will lead and assist in technical engineering
programs to implement, transition and maintain operations impacting both Remedy
and ServiceNow. The candidate will work closely with the operations and
maintenance aspects of windows, network, application, and middleware teams to
support product installations, customizations, and deployments. The candidate
will be responsible to support all aspects of a Remedy to ServiceNow
transistion including software updates and upgrades, backup and recovery,
performance management, capacity planning and peer training for the Remedy and
ServiceNow platforms. Familiarity with scripting technologies such as VB and/or
Powershell is preferred.
Job Duties
- Support transition (develop/test) of Remedy tool to ServiceNow Platform.
- Daily operations and maintenance of Remedy tool
- Develop, maintain and support operational documnetation
- Develop automated/scripted procedures for common executed tasks.
Required Skills:
- Day to Day management of Remedy Version 6.03
- Day to Day management of SeviceNow
- Familiarity with Windows systems, including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008
- Experience with Enterprise Backup software
- Familiar with managing Active Directory architecture and replication in a multi-domain environment
- Familiar with Active Directory design
- Experience with large scale datacenter design and operations
2-3 years experience with the
following:
- Experience working with virtual infrastructure (i.e. VMWare) required
- Experience utilizing VB/Powershell to automate common functions
- Experience migrating large infrastructures from physical to virtual environments
Preferred Skills
- Gather requirements and help architect, plan and implement system solutions for incident and problem and configuration platforms to meet customer requirements.
- Experience with web servers, databases, networks, cabling, new installations and migrations, and security scanning tools is required.
- Ability to write shell scripts and utility programs
- Federal customer experience
- Must also display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills
