Position: Cerner FSI Architect
 
Location: Remote location with travel (50%) - mandatory travel to Vienna, VA Office twice a month
 
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience.
 
Duration: 4 months

Mandatory Experience: Cerner FSI experience

Scope: Provides technical leadership in a specific field in which the individual is typically well known within the industry. Uses professional concepts in developing approaches in the solution of critical software architecture problems and broad design issues. Works on software architecture problems that impact the design success of products or addresses broad design issues of future products or technologies. Evaluates recommended solutions to problems related to software systems architecture and makes final recommendations to customers. Responsible for working closely with customers to ensure work is done to specifications. Establishes technical objectives of projects, selects staff, directs and may participate in research efforts critical to company. May act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may manage the technical efforts of a number of technical and support staff. Markets team capabilities in order to develop new business leads. Works on proposals. Responsible for project management. Establishes and controls major schedules and budgets.

Job Description: Provides consultation for three-tier client/server health care applications. A system architect delivers deep knowledge in one of the following areas of specialization: AIX, Open VMS, Desktop, Win 2000, WinNT, Data Network, Oracle DBA and standard applications.
This family is responsible for performing technical planning, software systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness for total software systems. Total software system product may include: concept design, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee).

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors interface project progress to assess and manage project risk and ensure quality assurance.
  • Provides high level solution functionality and troubleshooting support to clients installing Cerner application software.
  • Oversees interface projects by assisting and mentoring associates working with interfaces
  • Demonstrates continuous professional and technical development.
  • Maintains integrity of interface architecture
  • Proficient at managing and prioritizing/managing concurrent tasks
  • Understands dependencies and how individual contributions impact larger vision picture.
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed.
  • Works in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures. Understands personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of interface, integration, and Common Process (Core) expertise
  • Takes appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of role.
  • Able to function autonomously in role on all engagements
  • Controls project scope and drives project tasks independently.
  • Codes and designs quality of custom interfaces:
  • Code and design quality of custom interfaces
    • Defect free
    • Consistency with the architecture
    • Adheres to overall functional requirements
    • Adheres to the current software abilities
  • Manages activities of two or more sections or departments in terms of costs, methods and employees. In some instances this manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may have subordinate managers.
Problem Complexity: Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures budget, schedules, and performance requirements are met.
