Location: Remote location with travel (50%) - mandatory travel to Vienna, VA Office twice a month
 
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 10 years related experience.
 
Duration: 4 months

Mandatory Experience: Cerner FSI experience

Scope: Provides technical leadership in a specific field in which the individual is typically well known within the industry. Uses professional concepts in developing approaches in the solution of critical software architecture problems and broad design issues. Works on software architecture problems that impact the design success of products or addresses broad design issues of future products or technologies. Evaluates recommended solutions to problems related to software systems architecture and makes final recommendations to customers. Responsible for working closely with customers to ensure work is done to specifications. Establishes technical objectives of projects, selects staff, directs and may participate in research efforts critical to company. May act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may manage the technical efforts of a number of technical and support staff. Markets team capabilities in order to develop new business leads. Works on proposals. Responsible for project management. Establishes and controls major schedules and budgets.

Job Description: Provides consultation for three-tier client/server health care applications. A system architect delivers deep knowledge in one of the following areas of specialization: AIX, Open VMS, Desktop, Win 2000, WinNT, Data Network, Oracle DBA and standard applications.
This family is responsible for performing technical planning, software systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness for total software systems. Total software system product may include: concept design, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee).
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the primary contact for interface related issues as expected per level.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of project work plans.
  • Consults with clients on interface decisions.
  • Codes, configures tables, troubleshoots and migrates interfaces into relative domains.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, managing time and prioritizing tasks
  • Identifies where interfaces are having performance/reliability issues; analyzes & formulate a solution to correct the issues.
  • Coordinates with client for the testing of interface functionality.
  • Provides appropriate documentation to clients to support the Cerner interfaces.
  • Provides project-specific knowledge transfer, and documentation (for both client and Cerner Share drive),
  • Provides support for testing and conversion activities. Provides project status reports.
  • Identifies appropriate escalation paths for issues.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently on many responsibilities.
  • Ability to work within a defined scope and identify deviances and bring them to the attention of project management.
  • Ability to document and track issues, drive to resolution.
  • Manages activities of two or more sections or departments in terms of costs, methods and employees. In some instances this manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may have subordinate managers.
Problem Complexity: Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Ensures budget, schedules, and performance requirements are met.
